SECRETARY'S REPORT
The Secretary's report for the meeting of 29 June was

OLD BUSINESS
A. Committee Secretary reported there were no requests for community right-to-know information since the last meeting
B. Committee Secretary provided the SERC and SERC Training Reports none as the June SERC Training Committee meeting was canceled and the next SERC meeting is scheduled for 17 July; EMA Training Report Joanne & Tim completed ICS-300 training; large emergency vehicle driver training has been completed for approximately 80% of the WMD/Hazmat COBRA team members and 50% of ASO patrol and transport officers; WMD/Hazmat COBRA team completed two full-day training exercises no training scheduled for July and August to date; roll-out of all emergency vehicles and some of the equipment purchased with Homeland Security Grant dollars was done on June 12; Gerry Pineau of United Ambulance Service explained that UAS has an EMS MCI (mass casualty incident) trainer that can be used to care for approximately 50 patients at an emergency/disaster scene
C. Financial Report: Funds received since last meeting: $36,297.16 for EMA Quarterly reimbursement and HSGP (sent through LEPC in error by MEMA) as well as $4,358.07 for HSGP invoices and reimbursement for Tim to attend driver instructor training + earned interest of $62.76 for May for total of $40,717.99; total LEPC expenditures (from all accounts) $359,771.64 which includes the funds sent in error and disbursed to the proper accounts; unencumbered balance $25,441.81 and encumbered balance $9,259.70; purchases made since last meeting: none
D. Status of Homeland Security Grant 2005 and 2006 Funds - Where are we now?
No change from the last meeting
E. COBRA Team status: Tim conducted driver training as indicated under the EMA training report; pagers have been distributed to the team members on June 28 and the team will be ready for field deployment / emergency response on July 10
NEW BUSINESS
A. Gerry Pineau of UAS explained that all UAS employees currently at Awareness Level will be trained at Ops Level for Decontamination
OTHER BUSINESS
A. Kara
Walker of Maine DEP did a presentation on the roles and responsibilities of
Maine DEP and answered questions relative to emergency response services of the
Department
B. REMINDER: TRI Reports, for those subject to this rule,
are due July 1
