SECRETARY'S REPORT
The Secretary's report for the meeting of 21 December
was accepted with the following change:
Section III-B. – dates for SERC Retreat are January 23-24 and not 23-23. Meeting minutes are now posted on the web

OLD BUSINESS
A. Committee Secretary reported there were no requests for community right-to-know information since the last meeting
B. Committee Secretary provided the SERC and SERC Training Reports – SERC Retreat for January 23-24 has been canceled and the next SERC meeting is scheduled for march 18; EMA Training Report – ICS 300 training scheduled for December 17-18 – the class of Dec. 17 was postponed to Dec. 18 on account of snow storm the December 18 class will be conducted during the first half of January 29 and the remainder of Jan. 29 and all of January 30 will be devoted to ICS 400; Lewiston Fire Department completed Hazmat Ops Refresher Courses on January 8-9-19-15-16-17; received a request from Sabattus Fire Dept for Hazmat Ops Refresher and it was forwarded to MEMA for funding approval; there was no other training to report on
C. Financial Report: Funds received since last meeting: $2,488.04 for HSGP invoices (contract planner) + December earned interest of $57.02 for a total of $2,545.06; total LEPC expenditures $370,486.68; unencumbered balance $26,396.21 and encumbered balance $9,573.88; purchases made since last meeting: none - purchases to recommend: none
D. Status of Homeland Security Grant 2007 - Where are we now? All HSGP grant awards were made on January 4 as follows: Androscoggin County EMA $71,021.89 to improve preparedness and response capabilities (emergency planning assistant) + $5,567.60 for emergency pet shelter equipment; Durham $26,798.00 for shelter generator; Poland $224,500.00 for shelter generator and emergency pet shelter animal crates; the municipalities of Sabattus, Livermore Falls, Lisbon (covered under County planner) and Turner applications were not funded since they did not meet the ’07 eligibility criteria – all recipients are NIMS compliant
E. COBRA Team status: did training with CST on January 23; no emergency responses to report on

A. Joanne provided another early reminder that the 2007 Chemical Inventory Reports will be due ELECTRONICALLY on March 1 – if you need assistance, please contact the EMA office and we’ll be happy to assist you
